After nearly 3 years as the Creative Director of Vimby, I realized that there was still a huge disconnect between users and brands. Over 70% of 18-34 year-olds were now watching more content on the web than on tv. Yet, advertising was still in the form of traditional banner ads and pre-rolls that nobody was paying attention to.
Through Vimby, I had become a trusted voice to a large community of on-line users because I had been creating engaging content that was for them, about them and made by their peers. However, we had been dabbling enough in the branded content arena for me to see a bigger picture both on an integrated branded side and on a production side where a 360-degree multimedia creative shop would be a viable solution for the challenging budgets agencies were struggling with.
I sought out my friends Yamani Watkins and Edy Enriquez, two industry veterans and founders of commercial/music video production house Karma Kollective and joined forces with them to establish Karma Media Group (KMG) – a fully integrated one-stop shop specializing in broadcast & interactive video; web design & development; motion graphics & animation; and post-production.
As KMG, we look forward to the future of multimedia advertising and embrace the technological advances ahead of us as both creatives and filmmakers. KMG rises to the challenge to help brands connect the dots with today’s elusive and savvy users through innovative out of the box solutions.
