I had the honor of covering the 2012 Madden Bowl for STACK in Indianapolis during Super Bowl week. Being the sports fanatic that I am, it was one of the highlights of my media career. I’ve met tons of celebrities over the years. But when it comes to being in the same room with dozens of NFL greats (past & present)… let’s just say I was giddy.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a media preview of the new UFC video game Undisputed 3 in Las Vegas, NV.  The event was held at the gorgeous Cosmopolitan Hotel and was hosted by the game’s creators THQ.  Being a former producer of The Ultimate Fighter, it was a real treat for me.  Not only did I get to hang with some of my favorite fighters as well as Dana White, I got to visit my old stomping ground… the Ultimate Fighter gym.  Big thanks to THQ for the awesome weekend and for the generous tickets to UFC 137.  Unfortunately, but fortunately in the same breathe, I got to witness what possibly was the final fight of B.J. Penn’s and Mirko Cro Cop’s decorated careers.

We spent a day with Milwaukee Bucks’ point guard and Under Armour athlete Brandon Jennings at UA’s headquarters in Baltimore, MD.  Brandon was spending the summer in Baltimore doing his off-season training with resident strength & conditioning coach Nate Costa.  He was also interning and helping UA develop new products including his signature shoe. Hands down, Brandon was one of the coolest and most down to earth athletes to work with.  Check out the video we produced highlighting his journey from Compton, CA to the NBA.

We recently met up with the US Women’s National Soccer team while they were preparing for the World Cup in Columbus, OH and documented two full days of training.  The result was a 5 part video series titled All Eyes on U.S., which features interviews and training with Abby Wambach, Hope Solo and Carli Lloyd (first episode below).  To watch the rest of the series, head over to STACK.

To promote Nike Running’s “Destroy Yesterday” campaign, STACK was commissioned to produce a high school track and field series highlighting three powerhouse programs as they prepare for the prestigious Penn Relays. The three schools featured were Cheltenham High School (Cheltenham, PA), Shaker High School (Latham, NY) and Saratoga Springs High (Saratoga Springs, NY).

Our STACK production team had the pleasure of working with NBA phenom Dwight Howard. I have always been in awe of Dwight’s game and his physique, but when I had the chance to spend a few hours with him, you can’t but help love the guy. There’s never a dull moment when being around Dwight. He’s got a great sense of humor and is full of life.

STACK and Southpole Clothing came together to produce a video series exclusively for STACK’s blog called “Style & Swagger.”  The series’ mission was to help young student-athletes simulate the look and style of their favorite pros.  Episode one below.  Click here for the entire series.

STACK’s VP of Content Josh Staph and I rolled down to NYC’s Basketball City to interview Washington Wizards’ rookie sensation John Wall. The former Kentucky Wildcat gave us some insight to his early struggles as a high school hoopster in the video below.

One of my first initiatives at STACK Media was to increase visibility and help generate daily traffic. I felt one key ingredient we needed was a blog that offered daily doses of training, nutrition, gear and athlete lifestyle. I teamed up with my buddy Jeremy Baker of Letter Four to design a blog that was efficient and easy to navigate. Check it out at blog.stack.com
